Why are there so many parallels between the life and teaching of the Buddha and Jesus?

It is because they are both universal divine educators, messengers of God, one in reality, essence, and purpose, as they are with Krishna, Zoroaster, Moses, Muhammad, and Baha'u'llah, the universal divine educator for today. They are like different chapters in the eternal book of God.
