Is he trying to make me jealous?

i know he likes me, we even snuggle and watch movies and go places with eachother (like a couple would do even though were not "going out" yet) but hell text me somethin or well get into a subject about someone i know or an old clmate and he"ll say "is she hot?" or show me texts from girls saying weird stuff to him and he'll say they are stupid but i just dont get it=( hurts my feelings. also, his ex texts him constantly..and he'll say to me "we'll you check who it is? haha its probly " " again...stupid b*%#@" but he texts her ALL THE TIME? even though he will be polite if she calls he' ll say he is with me...helllp=(
