Suspended license?

hey, i'm in atl ga and i went to court 2 weeks ago and plead nolo to driving on a suspended license. the public defender told me if i plea nolo it will save my license. well today i got a letter from department of driver services( DDS) saying that my license has been suspended. Is there something the court can do about this considering that they told me this would not happen??
